The Pierce College baseball team had poor offensive showing at Joe Kelly Field Thursday as they lost Bakersfield College, 1-2. Good performances on the mound by Bakersfield College starting pitcher Art Charles and relief pitcher Anthony Ramirez kept the Brahmas at bay giving up only six hits.

Pierce College continues to grow with the addition of The Los Angeles Pierce College Bicycle Club
Pierce College continues to grow with the addition of The Los Angeles Pierce College Bicycle Club a new club on campus that meets every Monday at the Student Community Center from 1-2 p.m. The Pierce Bike Club, as it is known, is a baby project of the Valley Bikery, which is a bicycle co-op started last year in the San Fernando Valley that promotes cycling as a sustainable, healthy, and fun method of transportation.

Bruce Yoshiwara, Math Teacher, received the Teacher Excellence Award at the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges 35th annual conference held in Las Vegas on Nov. 12 2009.
As President of the Associated Students Organization, she serves the students through a variety of different jobs, such as organizing programs—now Shani Simms is just as organized when returning students’ bags in a quick and friendly fashion outside of the school bookstore. The long line of students stretching out on all sides doesn’t seem to bother her.
